Selangor Government Praises Tesla's Commitment to Investment in the State


Tesla's presence in Selangor, Malaysia, is set to grow as the state government welcomes the electric vehicle (EV) giant's plans for continued investment in research and development, as well as the opening of EV service centers. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari expressed enthusiasm for Tesla's expansion efforts in the Asian region, aligning with Elon Musk's vision for the company.

With Tesla already establishing its headquarters in Cyberjaya and charging centers in the region, the focus now shifts towards opening service centers to further penetrate the Asian market. Despite recent reports of Tesla canceling a factory development project in Thailand, the company remains committed to its operations in Malaysia.

Having already set up four experience centers and exceeded installation targets for instant chargers in key locations across Malaysia, Tesla's investment in Selangor signifies a significant step towards promoting sustainable transportation in the region. The influx of investors in the semiconductor sector further underscores the state government's readiness to support technological advancements, with plans for a second integrated circuit (IC) design park on the horizon.
