Emirates Sets New Record with 13 Daily London Flights for Winter Season

02-10-2025

Emirates is significantly expanding its London operations ahead of the winter travel season, with plans to operate up to 90 weekly flights across its three London gateways by February 2026. The enhanced schedule represents a substantial increase in capacity and marks a new record for the Dubai-based carrier's London service. The expansion includes additional frequencies to London Heathrow, Gatwick, and Stansted airports, positioning Emirates to capture growing demand during the peak winter travel period.

The airline will increase its Heathrow service to 48 weekly flights starting October 26, 2025, adding six new weekly departures to its existing schedule. These additional flights, operating on all days except Fridays, will be served by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft offering over 350 seats in a three-class configuration. The expansion brings Emirates' total daily London flights to a record 13, surpassing the previous high of 12 daily services last available in October 2024.

At London Gatwick, Emirates will increase service to four daily flights beginning February 8, 2026, marking the first time this frequency has been consistently available since a brief period in August 2019. The additional Gatwick service will utilize the 298-seat Airbus A350-900, Emirates' lowest-capacity aircraft, while A380 operations at the airport will be reduced to once daily. Despite the equipment changes, the fourth daily flight will increase Emirates' round-trip seat capacity at Gatwick by 23% to 3,180 daily seats.

The strategic expansion provides enhanced connectivity for travelers, with overnight departures from London Heathrow offering convenient connections to destinations including Durban, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Beijing, and Jakarta. The increased frequency also benefits passengers traveling from West Asian cities such as Ahmedabad, Lahore, and Hyderabad, as well as Middle Eastern points including Bahrain, Dammam, and Riyadh. The schedule adjustments reflect Emirates' focus on balancing aircraft loads and yields while meeting growing passenger demand during the winter travel peak.
