Nissan Unveils Fully Electric Micra for European Market

22-05-2025

The automotive world is buzzing with the latest announcement from Nissan, as the company reveals the fully electric version of its iconic Micra hatchback. Designed at Nissan's Design Europe in London, the Micra EV is set to make its debut in Europe by the end of 2025, marking a significant step in Nissan's broader electrification strategy. This move underscores the brand's commitment to sustainable mobility and innovation in the compact car segment.

At the heart of the Micra EV's appeal is its cutting-edge design and technology. The vehicle boasts two battery pack options—40 kWh and 52 kWh—offering power outputs of 120 hp and 147 hp, respectively. With a focus on aesthetics and functionality, the Micra EV features distinctive headlights, semi-circular DRLs, and a range of customization options including six color choices and two roof options. The interior is equally impressive, with 48-color ambient lighting, voice-controlled Google Assist, and a Harmon Kardon audio system, ensuring a premium driving experience.

The Micra EV is not just about looks and performance; it's also about practicality. Despite its compact exterior, the vehicle offers a spacious interior with a 300-liter trunk and split folding rear seats. Advanced connectivity features, including two 10.1-inch high-resolution screens for the instrument panel and infotainment system, cater to the modern driver's needs. The vehicle's design pays homage to its Japanese heritage, with subtle touches like the outline of Mount Fuji hidden in the central storage space.

Nissan's decision to produce the Micra EV in Europe, specifically at the Ampere ElectriCity plant in Douai, France, highlights the company's focus on the European market. With a maximum charging power of 100 kW for the 52 kWh battery, the Micra EV promises quick charging times, making it a convenient option for urban and long-distance drivers alike. As Nissan prepares to launch four new electric models by 2027, the Micra EV stands out as a testament to the brand's vision for a greener, more connected future.
