Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has departed for New York to participate in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The Pakistani leader left from London's Luton Airport, where he was seen off by Pakistan's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr. Muhammad Faisal, along with other diplomatic staff members.
During his visit to the United States, the Prime Minister is scheduled to address the main session of the UN General Assembly on September 26. This will mark his third address to the international body since assuming office as Pakistan's leader. The speech is expected to outline Pakistan's position on several key global matters.
In addition to his General Assembly address, Prime Minister Sharif is expected to participate in a special session focused on Gaza. The Security Council has scheduled a special meeting on the situation in Gaza during September, providing another platform for international discussion on this matter.
On the sidelines of the UNGA session, the Prime Minister is likely to hold meetings with several world leaders. These diplomatic engagements will occur alongside the formal proceedings of the General Assembly, offering opportunities for bilateral discussions on matters of mutual interest between Pakistan and other nations.
